Cawbourne Raven
DOB: May 22, 2022
Type: Retired Racer – Australia
Gender: Female

Hi, my name is Raven. When I arrived here, all I wanted was a family to love me, and for me to love them back, but I’ve made my mark in your country – literally. It was right by my fosters back door. I didn’t mean to, but time ran out. I swear, it really, it was my only  accident.

Well, that’s enough about that. How about I tell you a little about me: after all, isn’t that why you came here?

As far as walking is concerned, I do my best not to pull on the leash when you take me out and I really have no issues with stairs (of course they had carpet on them which made it easier for me.  Okay, once I had to get help going back down, but that’s all. Hey, I couldn’t help it – I’d never seen stairs before!

My foster people say I have no issues with the other two greyhounds that were here waiting for me.

I like my new squeaky toys, but more than that, I love people. I enjoy following them around to see what is new in this world.

To keep you safe, I take treats gently. I don’t want anyone losing a finger or three.

If I have any bad traits, it might be that I like looking for food and things on your counter, so you may need to convince me that is not a good thing. Otherwise . . .

I find wildlife interesting, but only because there are some different things than what I’m use to seeing in Australia. I don’t want to chase them or eat them, just study them. Can they be my friends too?

I do have a funny habit, unlike sharks that must turn around to get out of a tight spot, I walk backwards to get out of hallways or away.

If I want something, or just need to know where you are, I’ll cry out. It’s kind of like my bat sonar. When it bounces back, I know you’re near me, ready to love me, and ready for me to love you back – just like I said at the start of this novella.

Oh, I almost forgot, I’ve been told I’m “Cat Workable” whatever that means. I think it means I won’t be ruff. Get it? A dog not getting “ruff”! I slay me

Raven is being fostered in Calgary.
