Neil came to us through our friends at the American Lurcher Project.

Like a fine aged wine, Neil is almost perfect! He is a sweet, lovable , handsome brindle boy with cute white socks and white freckled face. His little tail is always wagging. Neil’s favourite things are going for walks, food, and being close to his foster people. He is great on a leash, but does enjoy exploring with his nose all the new smells in around the neighbourhood. He doesn’t pay much attention to other dogs, rabbits, etc.

Neil is very food motivated so would be easy to train. He sleeps well in his crate at night and during the day when his foster parents are at work. He often will go into his crate on his own to have a rest. He loves being near people. In the evenings and weekends he likes to lay down in whatever room his people are in or hang outside if that is where his people are. His house manners are pretty good if you watch for his cues that he needs to go outside. He usually goes to the back door or paces around the house when he needs to go out. A consistent schedule also helps. He loves to do a few zoomies in the backyard as well. He will sometimes try to counter surf but is easily corrected with a “No!”

Neil has the confidence to be an only dog, but also has greyt dog manners and gets along well with the resident greyhounds in his foster home. He is just the sweetest boy!

This sweet man is being fostered in Edmonton, Alberta.

Party is a super friendly and calm girl.

She is good on the leash and loves her walks. Although she is very interested in squirrels and rabbits and curious about other dogs on walks, she responds well to correction. Party is working on understanding that food on counters and tables are not for dogs. She reacts to sirens - breaking out in a roo each time she hears one. Bedtime is also a work in progress - she only wants to go to bed when ALL her folks do and she would prefer to sleep on a dog bed in her folks room. She is hesitant about stairs and her foster family is still working on this.

Party would likely be fine as an only dog in a home where the folks are not gone for long work days. Otherwise she will likely need a canine companion in her home.

Sally came to us through our friends at the American Lurcher Project, along with her brother Abe (also available for adoption).

Sally is a young girl whose personality is starting to shine through as she gains more confidence.  Although Sally started out as extremely shy and unsure, she has been able to gain confidence by following the lead of the other dog in her foster home. She loves to run zoomies in the yard and is starting to play with the other dog.  She is a very sweet and curious girl who loves to cuddle and ask for belly rubs.  Sally still pulls on her leash while on walks but is starting to develop better leash manners as she walks alongside the other dog. She occasionally freezes on walks when encountering something unexpected- but as her confidence grows the frequency of her stops has diminished quite significantly and she restarts walking quite easily with vocal prompts.

Sally has not had any accidents in her foster home and she is not very food motivated so has never tried to counter surf. She is still a puppy at heart and her youthful energy is starting to shine as she gains more confidence every day. She sleeps in a kennel at night as she has a tendency to wander and chew on various items in the middle of the night- but a chew toy in her kennel at night keeps her happy!

Sally loves people and is great with kids. She does not appear to have a high prey drive and is very curious about other dogs she sees while on walks. Sally definitely needs another dog at home to help lead her as she navigates her new life. She has done well staying at home with her foster brother for a few hours at a time and just finds a comfy bed to sleep in during the day. Sally is an energetic and curious young dog and would definitely benefit from living with an active family who incorporates her into their busy life.

Sally is being fostered in Airdrie, Alberta.
