This handsome Irishman came to us through our friends at FLIGHT.

After a long and distinguished career, Brett is ready to find his forever couch. Brett loves to curl up for cuddles on the couch but is equally as content on a dog bed on the floor. He enjoys the company of other dogs but definitely has the confidence to live on his own. Brett has good house manners, and is a joy to take on walks.

Brett is being fostered in St. Albert, Alberta.

Chill is a young fellow that still has lots of puppy energy.

He would love a home that wants to take him out for nice long walks or even perhaps a little jogging. In the house, Chill loves to hang out in his crate, coming over to get cuddles periodically. He loves to play with stuffies or chew toys, and is very good at keeping himself amused. He has not had a single accident in his foster home, but he is still trying hard to understand that the counter's are not where a fellow's paws belong.

Chill has the longest nose - with a big overbite - that is just adorable. He chitters and chatters when happy and content. Chill gets along well with the resident hounds but still needs to learn when not to bug them. No kitties or small critters for this guy please - he just gets beyond excited when he sees them. Chill does pull quite a bit when starting a walk but calms down a few minutes into it.

Chill is being fostered near Edmonton, Alberta.

Dexter's came to us through our friends at the American Lurcher Project.

His foster family describes him as the sweetest, cutest, most well mannered little soul ever.  He has excellent house manners.  Dexter is not fond of the crate but is very comfortable sleeping on a dog bed close to his folks.  He loves to walk and gets a little excited at the beginning but quickly settles down.  Dexter loves to play in the yard and would love a home that wants to spend some time throwing toys for him to fetch.   Dexter has been fostered as an only dog and does well, but he also really enjoys the company of other dogs and would not mind having a female canine in his forever home.  No kitties for this boy please!

Elyse is stunning! Click on her picture above to see more of this pretty gal.

After a second career of raising puppies, Elyse is settling well into retirement. She loves everyone and will come up on her hind legs to give hugs if invtied to do so. She is comfortable in her crate but also loves to lounge on the many dog beds in her foster home. She tells her foster folks when its time for bed, taking herself off to the bedroom and snuggling into her spot. She loves the car and jumps in an out with ease. She also loves her walks and enjoys a nice fast paced stroll while taking in all the new things in her new world. Elyse would love to have a fenced in yard to play in at her forever home.

Her foster home describes her as an absolute joy!

All they want for Christmas is a home they can call their own.

Like fine wine, greyhounds get better with age!  These 4 are all 8 or older and yearning for their forever home.   Yvonne, Elyse and Brett recently retired from breeding while Evie recently joined the NSGA family when her folks could no longer keep her.

Can you help make their Christmas wish come true?

Honda is a gentle giant. This handsome guy came to us through our friends at the American Lurcher Project.

Honda is being fostered as an only dog and is doing well crated when he is left alone.  His house manners are good and he is quiet in the house - only barking if a cat or rabbit run by. He doesn't try to get on the furniture or jump on people and is generally happy to be in the same room as his foster folks, laying nearby or looking out a window.  Honda does need to be reminded not to counter surf occasionally, any food up there is right at nose level and is a pretty big temptation.

Honda is the independant type - although he will come over for affection, he isn't needy and is content to lay on a dog bed close to his folks. He's very gentle taking treats and doesn't seem to be possessive with food or toys. He loves his toys can can be very playful. Click on his picture above to see his playful side!

Honda loves being outside and would really like to have a fully fenced yard in his forever home.  He also loves his twice daily long walks and is learning not to pull on the leash but rather walk better on leash and pull less on his leash after a few walks, but getting the scent or sight of a rabbit is still a bit too much for him. He hasn't shown any interest in other dogs (even ones that start barking/growling at him), bicycles or cars. When other people approach on a walk, he wags his tail but doesn't try to pull or stop.

Honda is being fostered in Edmonton, Alberta.

Mouse came to us through our friends at the American Lurcher Project.

This handsome fellow has a PENDING ADOPTION!

Oney came to us through our friends at The American Lurcher Project.

This young guy is just a love!  He loves people and would be very content as an only dog in the home.  He also loves cats - and is a proud big brother and protector of the foster kitties in his foster home.  Oney needs to work a bit on his leash manners - everything out there is so new and exciting - but does well with a harness for walks.  He has excellent house manners and is quick to learn - this guy just wants to please his folks.

Oney is being fostered near Onoway, Alberta.

Project Manager is jsut so sweet!

She is young - only two - but  outgoing and not shy about the outside world or exploring her new surroundings. She has good leash manners and likes going for walks, doesn’t pull, and with some training will be a great walking buddy. Though it is apparent she doesn’t care for the cold weather much. She is good with the young children in the home, and is being fostered in a multiple cat household. She loves to be brushed, and come close for hugs and pets.  She also loves her soft stuffies.  Project Manager is good in her kennel.

We are looking for a long term permanent FOSTER HOME in the Edmonton area for Project Manager.  She has been diagnosed with leaky valve in her heart, and there is no treatment available for this condition.  The cardiologist has advised that the valve will likely degenerate further, putting her into congestive heart failure in the next two to four years.  At this time she is on no medication, and just needs to be monitored for any symptoms that would indicate a change in her condition.  She will require regular follow up with the cardiologist at an Edmonton clinic.

Project Manager needs home committed to her - for the long term as the stress of changing homes would not be good for her.  A home where she will be treated as one of the family, willing to adjust as her needs change.  If you think you can offer what Project Manager needs, please get in touch with us at This email address is being protected from spambots. This young guy has had quite the tough go in life so far.  Jack was not a racer or field trial dog - he was bought as a pup.  Unfortunately the family new little about training and to curb his natural puppy enthusiasm, Jack was often confined to a crate for most of the day.  He was then taken in by a farm family but with no boundaries and without any obedience training, he ended up tied up outside most of the time. The ALP stepped in to give young Jack a chance.

Jack does very well in his crate and is slowly learning what home is.  He has been given boundaries for the first time in his life.  As he is so eager to please - he really works hard to stay within those boundaries. He is still working on his social skills with other dogs. Having never had any close encounters with other canines before coming into care, his over enthusiasm can be annoying to other dogs.  Jack's true nature shows through when he has the chance to interact with people - he LOVES them and just wants to be the centre of someone's world.

He needs a home that will understand that there is some work to be done with him and is willing to consistently apply rules. Its been a tough 3 years for this guy, but thankfully the future is bright for this handsome and loving fellow.

Jack is being fostered in Edmonton.

Suits is a handsome big boy!

He is calm and gentle. Suits is still figuring out this retirement thing and likes to follow his foster folks through the house. He has mastered the stairs, had good house manners, and loves to play with his toys.

Suits does get anxious if left on his own for long periods and finds it hard to settle in a crate. He would do best in a home with another dog to give him some guidance and perhaps a home where he does not have to be left alone long hours while his folks work.

He is being fostered in Edmonton.

Yvonne recently retired from her second career of raising puppies.

She is a sweetheart - affectionate, quiet, and just a joy to be around. She has done very well with the other greyhounds in her foster home and has picked up the routine and house manners from them quickly.

This beautiful lady has asked Santa to bring her a forever home for Christmas. Let's help Santa make that happen!

Yvonne is being fostered in Regina, Saskatchewan.
