Bashful is well named!

He is initially quite timid when confronted with new people or situations.  But this isn't preventing him from exploring all retirement has to offer!  He is a collector - taking items (especially likes shoes) to his bed - not to chew, just to have.  He has learned to use the dog door quickly and happily follows the small dogs in his foster home out to do his business.  It will take a little time to build up his confidence to new things but the reward is seeing him playful and happy.

Hamlin is a beauty!

She’s adjusting well to retirement.  Hamlin does enjoy the company of the resident greyhound in her foster home and finds it easier when the humans leave to have a buddy around.  She is an active girl and would make a greyt jogging partner as she does love to run.  Her leash manners are excellent.

Hamlin loves people and gets excited when greeting them.  She is working hard on curbing her enthusiasm a bit and is improving daily with the "down" command.  She’s playful, fun, smart and a cuddle bug. An absolute joy to have around you but she does love attention!

Tall, dark and handsome Parker came to NSGA with his two littermates Peach and Prince.

This young fellow is as happy as he is handsome. Parker is a sweet boy, he isn’t a jumper so even when he gets excited he isn’t ‘in your face’. He does gently chiiter when he is feeling particularly happy and pleased with himself. Parker has started seeking out attention, nudging hands for pets. Although initially a little shy around strangers, he is happy to greet his foster folks as they come home. He seems to genuinely like kids and isn’t scared of them. He also has a soft mouth when taking treats. Housetraining has been a breeze but his humans need to watch for his cue that he needs to go out.

Parker walks really well, either as a single dog or with others, he can be a little spooky when he hears sudden loud noises but a few soft words calm him right down. He doesn’t pay any attention to other dogs on walks or dogs walking by our own yard.  Parker’s will crate (especially if a treat is involved) but would prefer the comfort of a dog bed, out with his people.

Parker eagerly comes when called but still backs away when approached. He is doing well on a few stairs and is getting better on a longer set. He does fine on the hardwood floor. He hasn’t been much of a counter surfer and a soft verbal correction is all it takes to get his nose away from the table. His foster family sums Parker up by saying "he is just a lovely boy".

Parker is being fostered in Leduc Alberta.

Spencer is a happy, gentle boy who has very readily adjusted to his retirement.

He has youthful energy and curiosity.  He enjoys playing with his toys, loves a good bone to chew on, and at times can be a bit of a collector.  He also enjoys a good romp in the backyard, and is both self-amusing and very loving.

Spencer has many great traits, he is potty-trained (no accidents!); enjoys walks and does quite well on a leash; does not counter-surf; he is good with small dogs; he is not prey-driven and manages human absences very well (5-hour stretches so far); does extremely well roaming the house and does not like to be crated. He positively responds to ‘No’ when needed.

Unfortunately, this great boy is blind in one eye.  He does, however, effectively manage this handicap, as he navigates himself perfectly and does not startle at all when you come at him on his blind-side. He currently enjoys the company of an older resident greyhound.

Spencer is being fostered in Calgary.

Stan is the man!

This boy is full of fun!  He has already discovered stuffies and loves to toss them around.  Stan is not a fan of being on his own so he would do best in a home where he is not left for long periods while his folks work, or a home with a larger canine to keep him company.

Stan is being fostered in Edmonton, Alberta.

Vibrant is a calm, friendly girl. /p>

She can be a little shy at first, but is getting more comfortable with new people and household life each day. As her confidence increases she is slowly getting the hang of stairs, vinyl flooring, glass doors and loud noises. She has had no accidents in the house, but does need to be directed to go outside. She is curious about couches and all soft things and has responded quickly to redirection when trying to get on the furniture.

She is gentle with the children in the home and will stand still for as long as you need her to. She loves getting neck scritches and will ask for more if you stop. Vibrantan gets along well with the resident greyhound. She does pull a bit on walks, butfoster family is working with her. Once she is walking, she walks well with the other greyhound beside her. Her competitive spirit is starting to shine through, where she always needs to be one step ahead of her greyhound buddy!

Vibrant is truly the sweetest little girl!
